1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to make it work and to remember things between visits. We also use related browser storage technologies (such as local storage) — for simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies set by greenenergysupplies.ca are "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by other companies whose tools we use (for example, our bot-protection or analytics providers) are "third-party" cookies.
2. The categories we use
We group the cookies we use into four categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function. These keep your quote cart, protect forms from spam and abuse, and maintain security. The site won't work properly without them, so they can't be switched off here.
- Preferences — remember choices you make (such as interface settings or region) so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit.
- Analytics — help us understand, in aggregate, which pages and tools are used so we can improve them. We use privacy-respecting analytics and do not use this data to identify you personally.
- Security — set by our bot-protection service to tell real visitors apart from automated abuse when you submit a form.
We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising, and we never sell the information cookies collect.

The table below lists the main cookies and storage keys you may encounter. Exact names and lifetimes can change as we update the site and our providers update their tools.

4. Third-party cookies
A few trusted providers help us run the site and may set their own cookies when you use it:
- Cloudflare — protects our forms from spam and automated abuse.
- Our hosting & analytics providers — keep the site available and give us aggregate usage statistics.

5. Managing or turning off cookies
You're in control of cookies. You can:
- Delete cookies already stored, and block or limit new ones, in your browser settings.
- Set your browser to warn you before a cookie is stored, or to refuse third-party cookies.
- Use a private / incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it.

6. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how sites should respond, so we do not currently change our behaviour based on it. We keep our use of analytics minimal regardless.

We may update this policy as our tools and providers change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Please check back from time to time.
