Green Energy Supplies ("GES," "we," "us") is a Canadian company offering Net Zero engineering, installation, and managed-service work for residential and commercial properties.

This policy applies to personal information collected through greenenergysupplies.ca (including the quote builder, contact form, calculator tools, blog, and the GES Connect homeowner portal) and through direct interactions with our team — by phone, email, on-site visit, or installation.

We collect personal information you give us directly, including:

• Contact details: name, email, phone, postal code, and property address.
• Property details: roof type, square footage, hydro bills, vehicle use, and other details you share so we can size a system.
• Quote & project information: the products you add to a quote, the questions you submit, and the documents you upload (utility bills, site photos).
• GES Connect data: if you become a customer, system production telemetry, service tickets, and warranty documentation tied to your account.

We also collect limited information automatically:

• IP address, browser type, device, and language preferences.
• Pages viewed, clicks, and approximate location (city / postal area) derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see section 7.

We use the information you share to:

• Respond to your quote, contact, or consultation request.
• Design, permit, and install your system — and run your managed-service plan.
• File rebate, financing, and ESA paperwork on your behalf.
• Operate the GES Connect portal (production monitoring, alerts, support).
• Send service emails (appointment confirmations, install milestones, system alerts).
• Send occasional marketing — only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email with one click.
• Maintain site security, prevent fraud, and improve the website experience.
• Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

GES is subject to the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and to Ontario-specific privacy law where it applies. We collect, use, and disclose your personal information only:

• With your knowledge and consent (express or implied through your request);
• For the purposes identified in this policy;
• Where required or permitted by Canadian law.

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the parties needed to do the work you've asked us to do:

• Installation partners and inspectors — to deliver your project (ESA inspectors, equipment manufacturers handling warranty claims).
• Financing partners — only if you apply for a loan or rebate program, and only with the information needed for that application.
• Service providers — hosting (Supabase / cloud), email delivery, analytics, and customer-support tools that process information on our instructions under contract.
• Government / utility programs — when filing rebate, net-metering, or permit applications you have authorized.
• Legal & safety — where required by a court order, regulator, or to protect the safety of people or property.

Some of our service providers may store data outside Canada (typically the United States). When this happens, your data remains protected by contracts and safeguards consistent with PIPEDA requirements.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it's used:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your quote cart).
• Analytics — privacy-respecting usage statistics so we can improve pages and tools.
• Preferences — to remember settings like region or unit display.

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information: encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls limiting which employees can see what, and regular security review of our hosting and infrastructure.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, or as long as required by Canadian law and our warranty obligations. Inquiry records are typically kept for two years; customer project records are retained for the life of the system plus the period required by warranty and tax law.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Withdraw consent for any use that isn't required to deliver an active service or comply with the law.
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need (subject to warranty and legal retention requirements).
• Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@greenenergysupplies.ca with the subject line "Privacy request." We respond within 30 days.

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us and we'll delete it.

We update this policy as our services change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, emailed to active customers.
